Updates?

You may have noticed that there have not been many updates lately. This is because I'm very busy studying and working for my bachelors’ degree at the moment.
However, we of course will keep the game running and be here for questions and bugs. The server updates we recently did, brought some strongly needed organisation to our backend and we are ready do create new stuff! If there only would be time...

Server is Online
By Dravere on December 15, 2012 - 10:12After a bit less than 2 hours the server is now back online. I took care of some server health issues that should be gone now.
In addition I made improvements in the server performance. You should start to notice it already or at least in the next hours.

Working on the server
By Dravere on December 10, 2012 - 01:14During the next week there might be short (max 5 minutes) outages of the server. The server might not be reachable or you will be redirected to an offline page or the forum. I'm working on the database and the e-mail system.
In addition there will be again a downtime next weekend. But this one will be rather short compared to the previous one. I don't expect it to be longer than 3 hours. If everything goes really well the server might even be back online in 30-60 minutes. The downtime will start on Saturday the 15th of December at 8:00 AM (GMT+1). If you're lucky, you won't even notice it.
We want to move forward with Dragonadopters and for this some changes to the base system of the server are necessary. I'm sorry to separate you again for some hours from your dragons.

Winter Design!
By thaz on December 02, 2012 - 10:45Finally the winter design, its was about time! First time I featured two dragons and the canidragon in the header. It's as cold as the winter and I hope this arctic blue doesn't make you guys shiver!

Server back ONLINE
By Dravere on November 24, 2012 - 19:00I'm glad to open the game again after 12 hours. It was a lot of work, but it had to be done. Thank you for your patience.
Only to remember you, the expected behavior should be, that the server is running as previously. If it is running better then this is fantastic! If you find any errors, please report them to us.

Maintenance Shutdown
By Dravere on November 19, 2012 - 16:32Hello, my name is Dravere and I'm the new server admin of dragonadopters. I introduced myself on the forum more detailed already, you can go read it here.
We announced it in the forum already that there will be a maintenance shutdown in the near future. Now we have further information for you about this shutdown. We will start on Saturday 24th of November at 8 AM (GMT+1). The server won't be reachable during the downtime. The game will continue to run, so give your dragons enough food.
Currently we can't exactly determine how long the maintenance will take. Thus we currently say something between 4 and 24 hours. In the worst case scenario it might even take longer, but I don't think so, or lets say I hope, it won't take more than 24 hours.
The forum won't be affected by this shutdown and will stay up. We will provide you with more information in the annoucement section of the forum during the downtime.

Autumn Design

Weekly Summer Feature #5
By thaz on August 13, 2012 - 21:31During the summer, Dragonadopters is going to feature dragon/lizard/pet related artwork from Deviantart on the right menu.
This weeks feature is "Dragon Capstone" by Empyrisan.
It is an interesting concept of not having the main characters centered or featured, still trough the use of light they are very prominent. Its a very nicely detailed and fragile style! I think this artist is really underrated on dA.

Next two weeks there won't be a feature due to my absence.

Problems with the Personal Message System
By thaz on August 11, 2012 - 16:53Because of an failed automatic database cleanup, we unfortunately lost a huge amount of personal messages caused by a corrupt pm table. Also because of that table, our backup from last monday is also not working proper which means that we lost the data.
We're sorry for the inconvenience this is causing, we will try to improve our database system in the future to prevent such errors.
